Nutmeg, Whole

Grate or grind whole nutmeg just prior to use. Sweet, spicy and very flavorful, nutmeg is wonderful in baking, puddings or sprinkled over eggnog, hot chocolate or lattes. Nutmeg is wonderful on cheese and alfredo sauces and adds flavor to barbecue sauce and marinades. Add grated nutmeg to spinach and cheese pasta fillings, risotto, tomato sauce and chicken pies.
