Nutmeg, Ground

Native to Moluccas, the Spice Islands, Nutmeg  was the source of fierce  trade wars. Actually the  seed of an apricot-like  fruit, nutmeg is warm sweet, spicy  and very flavorful.

Ideal in sweet and savory recipes. Use in cakes, cookies and  fruit or milk puddings. Flavor spinach and cheese  pasta fillings. Add that "extra flavor" to alfredo and cheese sauces. Add to risotto, tomato sauces, sauces for fish, chicken pies, barbecue sauce and marinades. Wonderful in baking, pies and puddings or sprinkled over eggnog, hot chocolate or lattes.
