New Mexico Chile Powder

New Mexico Chiles are grown throughout the southwestern United States and may be referred to as Anaheim, California or Colorado Chile Peppers depending on the location of their cultivation.

Our New Mexico Chile Powder is true Hatch New Mexico Chile Powder, made from grinding only whole New Mexico Chiles grown in the Hatch Valley of New Mexico. Stretching along the Rio Grande, the soil and growing conditions in the Hatch Valley create a unique terroir which contributes to the flavor of chile grown there. This mildly hot chile powder 500-2500 Scoville heat units is 2-4 on a heat scale of 1-10. It has a fruity, smoky, earthy chile flavor with tones of wild cherries.

Commonly used in Red Mexican or Southwestern sauces. Add New Mexico Chile Powder when mild heat and chile flavor are needed. Wonderful in enchilada sauces, salsa, chili, stews, traditional adobo and barbecue ribs. The perfect addition to spice rubs and marinades. Use in stir fry. Add extra flavor to corn bread. The smoky flavor complements poultry, meats and squash. Sprinkle over poultry, meat or fish before baking or grilling. Spritz popped popcorn with water then toss with a bit of New Mexico Chile Powder for a unique snack.
