Also known as Mexican Marjoram or Mexican Wild Sage, Lippia Graveolens is a completely different plant than Mediterranean Oregano. Earthier, stronger tasting and less sweet with less of a hint of mint.
Well suited to the spicy, hot and cumin flavored dishes of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Use in salsa, chilis and black bean recipes. Add to barbecue sauce, meatloaf or chicken for a change of pace. Add at the beginning of cooking so flavors can meld.
