INDIA. Native to southern Europe and western Asia, dill seed is widely used in Scandinavian and German cooking. With a distinct, bold taste similar to, but milder than caraway seed, dill seed enhances most fish and egg dishes. Stir dill seed into yogurt with chives and serve as a sauce with fresh salmon or cod. Add to dressings for seafood salad, coleslaw or potato salad. Add to pickled or cooked vegetables. Sprinkle dill seed on bread and rolls.
