Chipotle Morita Chiles are Jalapeno Peppers that are allowed to fully ripen before harvesting and smoking. These Chipotle Morita Chiles have been destemmed for convenience in use. Chipotle Morita Chiles can be used whole, chopped, sliced, diced, turned into flakes, or ground into powder. Chipotle Chiles have a unique flavor and medium-hot heat, about 6 on a heat scale of 1-10 or 10,000 to 35,000 Scoville Heat Units. Their smoky flavor complements poultry, meats and fall squash and makes the perfect addition to marinades, spice rubs or a traditional adobo. Try Chipotle's in enchilada sauces, chili, stews, beans, corn bread, barbecue sauces and rubs. Whole Chipotle Peppers are best used when hydrated or added to a recipe with moisture to bloom its natural taste. Rinse peppers first in warm water, then either add directly to a recipe that will cook at least 10 minutes or soak in hot water for 10-20 minutes to rehydrate. Once rehydrated, dice or puree and add to recipe. Gluten free and all natural.
