The earthy flavor of L'Abeille Occitane's chestnut honey (Miel de Chataignier) is attributed to the bees feeding predominantly on the flowers of the chestnut tree. The combination of the sweetness of the honey and the flavor derived from the bees feeding on the chestnut flowers gives this honey a unique taste. Chestnut Honey has a strong aromatic taste with a pungent herbal aroma and a slightly bitter aftertaste.  Spread on toast when you want honey with a little less sweetness.
